Nick Chmura

Nick Chmura is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) who works with adolescents, college students, and adults experiencing depression, addiction, relationship issues, issues of identity, and life transitions. He received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cleveland State University and has participated in trainings at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and other centers for growth & human development.
 
Nick uses a mixed approach of person centered, Gestalt, and mindfulness techniques to promote awareness & growth in his clients. At times, he incorporates interventions from cognitive therapy and DBT. With some clients he uses books & articles to facilitate bibliotherapy. He sees importance in routine and a healthy mind & body, promoting wellness through: nutrition, exercise, meditation, and yoga. Nick is open to incorporating alternative therapeutic modalities, integration and exploration.
 
Through a strong relationship with his clients, he nurtures a therapeutic environment that is a safe place for disclosure and authenticity.  Working with Nick, expect to learn more about who you are along with techniques to cope with life’s challenges.
