Laurén Skillicorn

Laurén Skillicorn is a licensed professional clinical counselor & art therapist.  She earned a B.A. in Individualized Studies in Psychology and Studio Art from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and an M.A. in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College.  She has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health, a domestic violence shelter, and private practice.  She has experience working with individuals experiencing a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, life adjustments/transitions, effects from trauma, ADHD, chronic pain, and relationship challenges.
Laurén utilizes an eclectic and person-centered approach to treatment which may include art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR.  EMDR therapy (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing) is an evidenced based modality used to treat many challenges. EMDR helps the brain digest traumatic experiences leading to an increased sense of control over feelings, thoughts and behaviors.
In her spare time, Laurén enjoys spending time with her dog Kobi, painting, baking, and spending time by the water in the summer.  She enjoys continuing to learn about treatment modalities and interventions to support client mental health needs.

Laurén's pronouns are she/her/hers.

Laurén sees clients in-person and virtually.
