Mariah Payne M.A., LPCC, Counselor Mariah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who specializes in LGBTQIA+ mental health and consensually non-monogamous counseling. They are passionate about providing affirming, inclusive care for individuals, couples, and diverse relationship structures. Mariah earned their Master’s in Counseling from Heidelberg University. Mariah takes a client-centered and affirming approach to therapy, integrating techniques from CBT, feminist theory, and social justice theory. They work collaboratively with clients to explore identity, connection, and personal growth while addressing concerns such as anxiety, relationship dynamics, self-esteem, and life transitions. Mariah believes in creating a therapeutic space that is compassionate, empowering, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. Outside of the therapy room, Mariah is actively involved in advocacy and education. They serve as the 2024-2025 President-Elect of the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities of Ohio (SAIGEO), where they advocate for LGBTQIA+ inclusion in mental health care and equitable policies. Mariah has provided written and verbal testimony to Ohio government bodies. She is also a Navigating New Laws Trainer for NASW Ohio, educating healthcare providers on ethical practices in response to legislative changes. When not working, Mariah enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons, doing arts and crafts, and gardening. Mariah sees clients in person and virtually. Mariah's pronouns are she/they/elle.
