Kristy Mitchell M.Ed., LPCC-S, IMFT, Counselor Kristy Mitchell is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervisor (LPCC-S) and Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) who has experience working with a wide range of presenting concerns. She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology and her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Akron. She specializes in working with individuals, couples and families and enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults in both individual and relational settings. Kristy’s previous clinical work includes community mental health which has given her experience working with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, relational discord, life transitions, and a wide variety of behavioral and emotional problems. As an IMFT, Kristy works from a systemic viewpoint that allows her to understand the individual within the context of their environment. She uses an integrative approach to therapy that focuses on highlighting strengths, building resiliency and promoting hope in order to work towards symptom reduction, increased connectedness with others and more satisfying relationships.
