Courtney Hughes-Ksenich M.A., LPCC, Counselor Courtney is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who has experience working with teens and adults. Courtney received both her Bachelor's (Psychology) and Master’s (Clinical Mental Health Counseling) degrees from Heidelberg University. Courtney’s previous clinical experiences include working in college counseling and private practice. Courtney has held other jobs working in corrections, with families and children of divorce doing supervised visitations, and leading a LGBTQ+ youth support group. All of these experiences have allowed Courtney to learn how to work with clients from all walks of life. Courtney believes counseling is a sacred space that is created by the connection shared between client and counselor. This space is filled with trust, empathy, safety and support. She is honored to be a guide for anyone who tries counseling and to walk beside them on their counseling journey. Courtney takes a person-centered approach to counseling allowing each session to be tailored to any clients specific needs. Courtney takes pride in being herself in session to help clients feel more comfortable by joking about her four cats or talking about the latest gossip on Grey's Anatomy. When it’s time to get down to business, Courtney uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to teach coping skills and mindfulness techniques. She also uses motivational interviewing, strengths-based theories, and solution- focused therapy to help clients gain the ability to be their best selves. Courtney lives by the manta “Live with Kindness”, taking this approach on life allows her the ability to help others in and out of the counseling office. Courtney’s pronouns are she/her/hers.
