Bridget Hughes

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) earning my Masters in Arts of Counseling from Heidelberg University and my Bachelors of Arts in English Creative Writing from Baldwin Wallace University. I have experience working with children, teens and young adults with diverse backgrounds through my work in community and non-profit mental health. These experiences have grown my passion for working with clients from all walks of life, particularly those navigating trauma.

These experiences have enabled me to work in collaboration with my clients making sure their needs are considered every step of the way. This has also helped me to foster working relationships with not only my clients but with many of their parents/ caregivers ensuring all voices are heard.

My areas of focus include clients who have experienced IPV, those who have experienced sexual assault, trauma, anxiety, depression, along with other life transitions. I have training in both EMDR and aspects of play therapy which  I use as a part of an integrated approach also pulling from CBT, feminist, person-centered and narrative therapies. I am passionate about advocacy, empowerment and social justice as well as women’s health.

I believe counseling is a place to navigate life’s challenges free from judgement and that fostering a relationship through empathy, trust, and accountability help to achieve a healthy therapeutic relationship.

You’ve made it this far, I would love to know how.

In my free time I enjoy being with my family and being anywhere that has coffee.
