Jessica Sen

Jessica Sen is a licensed professional clinical counselor, supervisor, educator, consultant, and director at Grow Well Cleveland, LLC. She earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University and a Master's in Education with an emphasis on special education (mild to moderate interventions) from Ashland University. Jessica has an additional Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University. In 2018, Jessica was awarded the title certified clinical mental health counselor (CCMHC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors. As a clinician, Jessica has worked with multiple community mental health organizations. As an educator, Jessica worked primarily with children with special needs, including those on the Autism Spectrum.

These experiences have allowed Jessica to develop an unique approach to family and child/adolescent counseling emphasizing parenting strategies, communication styles, functional assessments, and behavioral interventions. Jessica's practice also includes individual counseling and working within school systems to provide individually tailored interventions and accommodations to staff and students alike.

Areas of focus in practice include helping those experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, stress, life transitions/adjustments, and effects from trauma. She finds value in working with individuals to promote self-esteem and self-worth. Jessica also finds importance in working with children and families to help manage behavioral and emotional concerns and strengthen communication within the family.

Jessica uses an eclectic treatment approach including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused, and person centered modalities. Jessica is also trained in EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing) which is a modality frequently used for (but not limited to) treatment of trauma. Jessica enjoys working with many individuals at Grow Well Cleveland including LGBTQ persons and those with special needs.

In her spare time, you will find Jessica working toward a therapy dog certification with her dog, Harley. Or collecting eggs in her chicken coop, working in the garden, or reading.
