Lindsey Higgins MSW, LSW, Social Worker Lindsey Higgins is a Licensed Social Worker who earned her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology from Cleveland State University before completing her Master of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh. Lindsey believes that feeling safe, understood, and supported is the foundation for meaningful therapeutic work. She strives to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves, talk openly about what they are experiencing, and know they don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Lindsey believes therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience. She takes a collaborative, person-centered approach and works alongside each client to understand their unique experiences, strengths, identities, and goals. Her therapeutic style draws from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), person-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. Lindsey is passionate about providing LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally sensitive care and approaches each client with respect, curiosity, and genuine care. Lindsey works with children, transitional and college-aged clients, young adults, and older adults. She has experience supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, relationship and parenting challenges, chronic illness and disability, and feelings of stress or overwhelm. She also has experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence. No matter what brings you to therapy, Lindsey believes that seeking support is a meaningful first step. Her goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered while building on the strengths they already have and creating meaningful, lasting change. Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her three cats, Luna, Aurora, and Oliver, especially when that means plenty of snuggles. She also loves baking sourdough, trying new recipes, going on adventures, and exploring new places. Lindsey’s pronouns are she/her/hers. Lindsey currently sees clients virtually and will begin seeing clients in person in early 2027.
