Leanne Thompson

Leanne is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who earned her Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walsh University in 2021. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Clinical Psychology from Cleveland State University in 2017. While earning her Master's degree, she served as Co-President for Walsh University's chapter for Chi Sigma Iota - Alpha Mu; an honors society recognizing professional excellence in counseling services, from 2018-2021.

Leanne’s areas of clinical expertise include treating a range of presenting problems for clients ages 9 and up. Some presenting issues in Leanne’s areas of clinical treatment services include a range of depressive/mood problems, trauma and stressor-related issues, among a vast range of mild to severe problems in formats of individual counseling, couples and family counseling, as well as group therapy. Additionally, Leanne has a sub-speciality as a  cross-trained professional treating  substance use/chemical dependency and behavioral addiction issues. She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy).

Leanne believes the most impactful of factors involved in successful treatment for clients involves a collaborative process with clients and diminishing the notion of a “power differential”, and recognizing the rapport and trust between client(s) and therapist as a vital component to successful treatment. Leanne's passion for client care extends outside of the office setting through  advocacy efforts along other extraneous efforts vested in working on the grand scheme of believing in working in efforts for the betterment of society, at-large. Leanne offers therapy services through Telehealth, in-person, and hybrid options to best accommodate client needs.
