Sam Montell

Sam Montell is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who earned her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Cleveland State University. Sam’s clinical background includes working with folx experiencing mood disorders, dual diagnosis, trauma, and neurodivergence. 

Sam emphasizes the therapeutic relationship with her clients and works to provide an open, safe, and compassionate place for clients to grow. When working with Sam, clients can expect to be met with unconditional positive regard, insightful feedback, and curiosity. Sam is interested in supporting folx of various ages, ethnicities, identities, and backgrounds. She collaborates with clients to identify strengths and skills to mitigate negative life experiences. 

Sam utilizes a holistic-eclectic approach to provide clients with an individualized experience in counseling, taking into account all factors in a client’s situation. She also uses a harm-reduction and trauma-informed lens to assist folx in working through their circumstances and reaching their goals. Sam often pulls from a variety of modalities depending on the client’s situation, including but not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). 

In her free time, Sam often listens to music, creates art, plays video games, and hangs out with her friends and partner. Sam is an avid cat-lover and enjoys spending time with her two cats, Milo and Turkey.

Sam sees clients in-person and virtually.
