Emily Pohorence M.Ed., LPCC, Counselor Emily Pohorence is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) at Grow Well Cleveland. Emily earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology at Cleveland State University. Emily earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cleveland State University in 2020. During her time at Grow Well, Emily has served a variety of populations, with a focus on serving the LGBTQIA+ community. Emily utilizes a strengths based approach in her clinical practice and works to help others raise their awareness of their own resiliency and connect to empowerment. As a queer identifying person, Emily holds a special place in her heart for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and specializes in working with this group. Emily is affirming to individuals from marginalized communities and works with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Emily supports clients in exploring a variety of topics in her clinical work including sexuality and gender exploration, depression, anxiety, effects from trauma, mindfulness, and promoting self-worth. Emily utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, pulling from theoretical orientations such as person-centered, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and feminst theory, depending on the unique needs of the client. Emily is committed to meeting the client where they are at and using this information to determine what is needed in the therapeutic setting. In her spare time, Emily enjoys time at home with her three cats, spending time outside in her hammock, embroidering, and traveling to explore new places. Emily's pronouns are she/her/hers.
