April Elsasser M.A., LPCC, ATR, Counselor, Continuing Education Program Coordinator April Elsasser is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and art therapist (ATR) at Grow Well Cleveland. April earned herB.A. in Psychology at Cleveland State University in addition to an Associates in Arts and Humanities at Lorain County Community College. April holds a Master's degree in Counseling & Art Therapy from Ursuline College. April pays special attention to and affirms marginalized communities in Cleveland experiencing tribulations as a result of economic, political, racial, environmental, and social oppression. April approaches each client considering individualistic needs and goals. Employing a feminist and wellness-based perspective within her clinical practice, April utilizes treatment approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, humanistic theory, strength-based, internal family systems, and person-centered modalities. As an art therapist, April strives to find a creative way to support clients in gaining insight and developing traits such as empowerment, coping skills, self-esteem, self-awareness, and growth. April has undergone specific training to work with trauma-informed approaches, the LGBTQ+ community and eating disorder population. April's pronouns are she/her/hers.
