Emily Pohorence

Emily Pohorence is a counselor trainee (CT) completing her practicum and internship at Grow Well Cleveland. Emily earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology at Cleveland State University. Emily is currently enrolled in her final year at Cleveland State University and will earn her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling upon graduation.

Emily utilizes a strengths based approach in her clinical practice and works to help others raise their awareness of their own resiliency. As a queer identifying person, Emily holds a special place in her heart for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and would like to specialize in serving this group. Emily is affirming to individuals from marginalized communities and hopes to work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Emily seeks to explore a variety of topics in her clinical work including depression, anxiety, effects from trauma, sexuality and gender exploration, mindfulness, and promoting self-worth.

In her spare time, Emily loves spending time with her two cats, caring for her plants, and eating delicious vegan food.
